Great Day at the Playground: "Hey Girls," "Like the Fox," Big Swings

On a beautiful day, I packed some snacks, got out the bike and chariot (which both of you are getting too big for!) and we rode around the neighborhood until we landed at the Hexter Elementary School playground.

We had a marvelous time, and the two of you explored and showed how much you've grown with every step and obstacle climbed.

Julia, you proved that you can climb in ANY type of shoe...

You swung on "big kid" swings:

You posed together:

...including Aidan's new pose "Like the Fox..."

...and, Aidan, you flirted a lot with some girls. At first you heard them talking and said "I'm going to go check those girls out!" But then you came back to me and told me that you were too shy to say hi. Eventually- like a few minutes later- you got over it and introduced yourself by yelling "Hey Girls! You want to play with me?"

They were super sweet and said "Yes!"

When they left, you told me "They're going to come over to my house later and my mommy will be SO happy!"

Well, the girls didn't come over, but Mommy was SUPER happy; happy to hear about your accomplishments, your funny stories, and to see the "like a fox" face!

It's the little things, you know?

Passovster 2015

Passovster 2015 came and went with many memorable memories.

Your mom and I wrote new lyrics to "Let it Go" for Passover to tell the tale of Exodus: "Let us Go." It was a BIG hit with everyone, except both of you, who let us know that we were singing the song incorrectly.

Aidan, you got so hungry during the Passover Seder that you picked up the shank bone of the Seder plate and started gnawing on it!

There was an epic Egg Hunt in our back yard!

Julia, you decided that instead of eating your Easter Candy, you should organize it and sort it into appropriate piles according to size and shape!

You guys got to go swimming with Pops, Addison, Autumn, and me: Aidan, you asked if you could stay there 'for ever and ever!'

Julia, you kept unwrapping your sorted-chocolates and delivering them for Pops to eat one by one...but he (for once in his life) got full! But you kept bringing them over!

Oh yeah...BOUNCE HOUSE!

A visit from the Easter Bunny!

Baby chicks and ducks at Aunt Nessa's farm with Aunt Chrissy!

You two continue to grow closer and closer to your cousins, and this family tradition continues to rise in the rankings. In fact, as I'm writing this post in early December, Aidan you keep asking "when is Easter?" (not Christmas) so you can see your cousins and family again!

Some of the highlights of Passovster 2015 are in the photos and videos here, but really they don't do it justice. It's a loud, crazy, loving, lovely affair- filled with candy, and matzah, and kisses, and family. And we can't wait to do it again!
