All's Fair

The last time we went to the state fair was in 2013. The Fair is pretty much the same- delicious fried food, rigged fun carny games, fun totally-safe carny rides, and delicious fried foods. But...you have changed!

Aidan, look at how much you've grown! Literally!
2013

2016

And Julia, now look at you then and now!

2013

2016
It's hard to believe you both have grown up so much in 3 short years! And now that your older we could truly enjoy more of what the Texas State Fair has to offer!

The video!

The Food!
Uncle Jeremy has a saying from our old Fair-foraging days. More of a poem. Or a chant.

"Funnel Cake, Funnel Cake

Pretzel
Corn Dog
Turkey Leg

It's more like a mission statement for eating your way through the fair...and we did pretty darn good!

It started, like any good morning does, with ICE CREAM (after you ate your lunches, of course)

Then we found the TURKEY LEGS! Julia, you loved it. Aidan, not so much.

Then we found the CORN DOGS! Mommy and I didn't share. But we did share our LEMONADE! Julia, you loved it. Aidan, not so much.

And finally.. we found RED VELVET FUNNEL CAKE with cream cheese frosting... mmmm Everyone loved it. So much...

So our motto could be "Funnel Cake, Funnel Cake...ice cream...corn dog...turkey leg!"

So good...

The Fright!
Aidan, you were so bold. You really wanted to go on the Haunted house roller coaster. Julia, not so much. So we stood in line...waited our turn...and went on a frightful ride! You were so brave! You later asked me if I was scared and I said "a little bit!" I asked if you were... and you said "Yeah...only a little....just up to my lungs!"

But no nightmares, so that's good!

The Fun!
The misters were super fun!

You both rode some awesome rides, and rode them like bosses! Yay for children's Dramamine!

No one threw up!

You both also participated in some pretty awesome Fair games and were challenge beasts! You won your games and were really proud of yourselves! Plus...cool prizes!

And don't forget Mother Goose Song and Story Time!

Aidan, I kid you not, you introduced yourself to Mother Goose thusly: "I'm Aidan. This is my sister Julia. She's afraid of Zombies."

And the farming experience!

The Friends!

Everyone's always got a big friendly person to meet at the Fair: Big Tex! Despite some initial trepidation about a giant texan robot, neither of you were too scared.

But, we also ran into a not-so giant friend: We saw Zoey, your new friend from school! How cool!

The Family!
All in all, it was fun to just have a super fun family day with all four of us in the park.

The end.
