Julia's Little Gym Show Week Extravaganza!

Julia, the moment you've been counting down the days toward finally arrived with much fanfare, family, and amazing skills: it was your first SHOW WEEK at the Little Gym!

You've only been asking everyday if it was show week yet, and finally, today, it was!

It was almost a mini-Olympics with opening ceremonies, amazing events, tons of fans, and awards ceremonies.

So many people gathered to watch you demonstrate your gymnastics skills, and you were amazing, and cool, and skillful, and an inspiration!

First up: Opening Tumbles!

Next Up: Promenade & Floor Exercises!

Then, another little promenade and Bars!

The final event of the day was Beam!

You were so excited and confident! Capable and deft! Beautiful and fluid and strong and easy-going.

We are so proud of you! And so  was your teacher, Mr. Jaime- just hear what he had to say about you!

You earned a GOLD MEDAL! And a certificate of EXCELLENCE! Immediately after the awards ceremony you ran and said "I'm so excited that I got a medal!"

Later you told Aunt Sham, "I got a Medal AND a piece of paper!"

It was so sweet that you were excited about the physical awards given to you based on your excellence, and so humble about how awesome you are!

The smiles from you as you shared your love for Little Gym with your family say it all!

You are our Gold Medal Gal and we are so proud!

No... YOU rule!

Parks and Recreation

All weekends come and go. Sometimes, though, we really go, go, go! This weekend we had double adventures at some of our favorite parks.

On Saturday, the four of us went to Klyde Warren for a bunch of splashing in the sun, and some sweet treats, which were sweetly shared.

And where shall we go on our next adventure? The next day, I packed some PB&Js, and the three of us headed to the Children's Garden at the Arboretum, where, you guessed it, we went splashing in the sun and had some sweet treats. We also did a lot of exploring, found a hidden puppet theater, and tried our hand at some new things we haven't done before, like the kaleidoscope, hedge maze building, and tessellations.

As I look back at these pictures and see the joy on your faces, I'm reminded how much I love exploring this city and this world with you. I hope our journeys together will continue for a long, long time.
