A warm November day. Shorts and t-shirts warm.
Mommy had a headache.
So we headed out to "the woods."
The afternoon light was golden and added an immediately nostalgic glow to every moment.
There were a few tears- as to be expected- but no tempers lost and all was repaired.
You played without me. Climbing. Cheering. Making friends. Coveting friends' Frozen shoes.
Trying new tricks; being brave on new obstacles.
You played with me. Chase, Hide and Seek, telling secrets.
We went into the woods, chased birds, jumped in the leaves.
Running and spinning as the light grew even more golden and the warm winds blew your hair.
Mommy felt much better and brought us burritos as the sun started going down.
When it was dusk, the four of us went home after a perfect, golden, afternoon.
I'll never forget it.
