Santa Santa Santa!

You've been making your lists...

...and checking them twice!

..and then we went to the book store to have Santa assess who's been naughty or nice...

You guys waited patiently in line with kids and dogs and babies...

...and Julia, you worked through some nerves you had about seeing the big guy. It's no surprise, you and he have had a storied history. You wanted to show him your list, but not talk to him and not sit on his lap...and that is all fine

Until it was time to see the big guy himself!

You guys have grown up a lot with Half Price Books Santa... from inquisitive/scared...

to only acceptable with Mommy and Daddy...

...to...  "I'll sit next to him but I won't talk to him." (Julia... but you actually did talk to him!)

...and Aidan, you and Santa have always been solid! This year you asked him a LOT of questions.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

See you next year Santa!

Summer's Last Hurrah

Twas the weekend before school started, and all through the town, it was raining. Just pouring down.

But, worry not, Dad's childhood slicker was ready to wear, to keep Jules dry- her shoulders and hair.

We went to the bookstore, to get out of the rain; and when we came out the storm met and end.

So that night we went out for dinner and jumping with neighbors and friends!

The next day was sunny, and a cat hung around.

Us three saddled up and went to check out Down Town.

The bridge park was cool, but the day was hot.

So you climbed, ate, looked around and were ready to get got.

On our way off the bridge, we saw a motley crew.

Jules was scared, but not Aidan- not you!

You shook Kubo's hand and made real nice. In turn, the gang gave you both a surprise! (it was  frisbee. A Kubo Frisbee)

But...it was scorching and we needed a place to cool down.

So we left the bridge and headed to the meow-see-yum. (forced rhyme...sorry)

We saw a hummingbird (not visible in pic); and then hopped on over to Klyde Warren for a dip.

Chasing and splashing, and running and laughing, and playing with Kubo Frisbees.

Watching y'all play and giggle with joy has a way of making me happees.

In the shadow of skyscrapers, you lounged and you laid.

One of you even became a famous mermaid.

Y'all thought this would be fun, and you were not wrong.

You laughed and dried, got wet and sighed; Aidan showed he's that you're strong!

Julia was fierce...

...and I took my place. To snuggle, to keep warm, to selfie, to dry.

To hear the request for popsicles; to pony up and buy.

What a fun afternoon in the hot Texas sun; hanging around with my daughter and son.

Twas the weekend before school, and we had an adventure, this crazy Weinstein crew.

School starts next week, you're both growing up, and wec will always love you.
