EuroWeinstein 2019: London Part 6

Our last full day in London.

It was hot, so we headed to Never Never Land!

On our way to the Arnos Grove Tube station for the last time, we stopped and played an payed homage to the London gem known as "Bombie", where you three kiddos spent some great time playing, pretending, running, and lounging.

Then we headed into town...and within minutes y'all were all set in swimsuits and playing in the sand and water in the shade of a giant pirate ship and a mermaid lagoon.

That's right...we hit up the Princess Diana playground - which is Peter Pan themed to the max! Mermaid Lagoon; James Hook's ship, Lost boys camp, Teepees, hidden treasure chests!

After we couldn't get into the treasure chest, we found another treasure...ice cream!

We loaded up and took the long, leisurely route to Aunt Deborah's and Uncle Keith's house for supper.

By the phone booth...

 ...in the subway...

...then a long but leisurely walk up the hill...

until it was picnic time with the fam! We all chilled, ate, relaxed, and played. And you two even made up a game that was not too unlike baseball, except it utilized Deborah's crab apples and juice bottles.

... and that lovely little afternoon in Deborah's and Keith's perfectly British back garden is how we wrapped up our perfectly British stay in London.

EuroWeinstein 2019: London Part 5

Our next adventure in London started with a shoot for yours and Molly's Emo Rock album cover.

Then we went on past the station to the Arnos Grove playground, where you guys had a blast playing in the sand, climbing trees, pumping water out of their cool water feature, running the obstacle course, and enjoying the shade of some lovely English foliage.

Julia, you were queen of the equipment!

I'll never forget that you, Aidan, threw your beloved bouncy ball souvenir from the Maritime Museum at a fly...which was flying right in front of the stream. The ball missed the fly...but definitely hit the stream.

You were so saddened by this. Tears and all. We comforted you, and tried to help you focus on all the great things you do have, as opposed to things that are lost. This turned out to be an important lesson for ME to learn later in the trip, and you and your bouncy ball...and your resilience...taught me a lot.

Kobi met us at the park, and escorted us to the world-famous  Leicester Square, where you were all thoroughly entertained by Mr. Bones, the fantastic marionette.

We picnicked by the statue of William Shakespeare on some yummy Pret a Manger. Aidan, you chased- and actually somehow TOUCHED a Leicester Square Pigeon! (which we did not eat)

We journeyed onward to the Forbidden Planet comic book shop extraordinaire..

...and then marched onward still...

until we almost gave up...but then we found the darn elusive entrance to Coram's Fields playground, where we rested, y'all played on the very cool zipline, and we got in some Poppy cuddles.

We descended once more into the Underground...down what had to be the LONGEST stairway in London...

and emerged in King's Cross where we met up with Deborah, Mimi, and Pops...and strolled...and ate pizza...

...until we collapsed again at the end of another eventful, friend-filled, crazy London day!
