Critters

A lazy Sunday, and lovely weather. What else would two awesome kids do than hang out in our backyard catching and collecting animals for a vast menagerie!

Together y'all (and me, a little), caught 4 or 5 snakes, 2 lizards, a caterpillar, some grubs, and worms.

In between there was a haircut, some video messages to cousins, a dinner at Yaya and Babas. But, mostly, this day was all about your yard, your clubhouse, and a lot of cool critters!

Thrilling Sunday

On a grey, rainy, coldish Saturday, we still had fun. But we were all hanging from the rafters a bit:

To follow it up with a sunny, thrilling Sunday was amazing.

You were both in moods to create:

Lego masterpieces...

Solutions to daunting mazes...

Collages...

Face art...

And you wanted to play and work together:

Bear family:

Giant 100-piece puzzle that you opted to do by yourselves, on your own...and to completion!

and...of course...dancing. Always dancing...

Then we went outside with the dogs...

and with neighbors:

Finally we reunited with old friends (your "old bestie" Lennon and Harrison) for a fun-tastic dinner and yogurt outing.

Just a slice of life in the amazing story of Aidan and the amazing story of Julia. What a thrilling sunday!

Sunday Funday - January Edition

A New Year just bloomed- 2016; and with it we're jumping in feet first for a whole lot of fun. Today, I invite you to feast your eyes on a crazy, lazy Sunday Funday:

The day started off in PJs...

Then moved to clothes and shakes and Legos...

Then, since it was warm enough for a January day, we slightly bundled up and went to explore a new playground...we call it "Hidden Playground."

New obstacles, new challenges, new fun!

You created fun new games on the double slides:

You played hard:

We witnessed major static hair:

And you both had a song in your heart:

With a happy song in my heart, despite the cold weather and odd request, we went to the dollar store and ended the day with shaving cream fun!

Thank you for joining me on this adventurous Sunday, kids. May 2016 and beyond be full of fun, songs, and a little electricity.

Aint No Mountain High...

Rainy Sunday. Aunt Elsie and Uncle Charlie are in town. What else are we going to do?

Rock Climbing of course!

We got suited up, harnessed up, and trained and then the two of you little mountain goats were off! You were brave and strong, wisely hesitant at times, and very supportive of all the climbers and rules.

You each took two turns climbing the 'big walls' and did a fantastic job!

Aunt Elsie even climbed up alongside both of you while Mommy or I 'belayed' you (managed the ropes keeping you safe!) while you did your ascents!

Even Mommy and I got in on the action (and you guys were so supportive and cheered us on, gave us hugs and high-fives when we got down, and quickly learned the verbiage- "good climb!"

Look at those legs!

Then, we went into the bouldering room (aka "the cave") where you guys went climbing without safety ropes (but with a lot of safety hands). Even though this room was theoretically more dangerous, you guys were much more willing and able to climb here. Time after time you nailed and climbed very well!

What strength and bravery and skill... and fun!!! And you looked really cool doing it!
