LEGOLAND!

Aidan, yesterday: "When we go back to Legoland can I get the zombie with the ice crystal? Or the alligator with the ice crystal?"

Julia, this morning: "I had a dream that we went back to Legoland and you and me and my brother rode the spinning ride again!"

Aidan and Julia a few days ago:
J: "I didn't like the big troll in the shooter game, but my brother did. It scared me"
A: "Yeah and I pew pewed it!"

You guy have literally been talking about our trip to Legoland for weeks. With such rave reviews, you know I had to immortalize our trip!

It was a rainy, rainy Sunday morning. Our good friends, the Myers', invited us to join them at Legoland. When we told you guys that's where we were going, you didn't quite believe us! Could it be a real place? A whole land of Legos? You got very excited...and  it paid off!

From the moment we arrived, you guys were stoked to be there!

We went through the Lego-making factory and Aidan and Tyler got picked to turn some levers! You guys made some commemorative Yellow Lego bricks, that Aidan even brought to show and tell.

We immediately went on the "pew-pewer ride" where we used lasers to shoot trolls and skeletons, but not princesses or dragons. Aidan, you LOVED this. But Julia, you preferred to get really close to me and not do this again. It's all good!

We explored some exhibits...

Then we found the "magic wizard hat spinning ride." This was your favorite, Julia. You and I rode it 4 times throughout the day! Aidan, you loved spinning too! The faster we pedaled, the higher we went up in the air. Mommy vomits if she spins too much, so this was all Daddy territory.

After that, we did more building, and playing, and exploring, and building cards to go down awesome ramps, and singing, and driving, and Star Wars.

A lovely  photo taken by Aidan!
We even went to the 4D Lego Movie LegoLand movie...3D glasses and getting sprayed in the face with water and wind. You guys loved it! Aidan you were so psyched to get sprayed in the face with 'lemon juice' and actually didn't want to sit with us, opting to sit with Tyler alone. Such a big boy. Julia, you love seeing Wildstyle on the big screen again...and uni-Kitty.

It was a Lego-riffic day, followed by an afternoon of Lego playing with the Legos you earned at Legoland (an awesome ice tiger fighting force with weaponized snow mobile for aidan (jules, you and i assembled the snow mobile); and a Janitor and Satyr mini figure for you Julia!)

GOOOOOOO LEGO!

Aidan's 6th Birthday Party!

A Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Aidan turned SIX years old!

...and a Star Wars birthday party was held at the Little Gym by his request and in his honor.

Anticipation was high as the party started...

...and then the gates were opened up, your friends arrived, and the fun began!

You were literally climbing the walls with excitement!

Everyone knew that it was YOUR special day and they were all there to celebrate with you in style! Some of your closest friends and pretty much your entire kindergarten class was there to celebrate!

You kicked the party off with a super cool party trick:

Then you all went on a JOURNEY to OUTER SPACE!

Of course, the birthday parachute had to come out:

...and this year you were perfectly happy to be the center of attention and at the center of the parachute as your friends spun you around and sang their hearts out for you!

Out came the balls, the air track and amazing fun happy fun times!

Before we knew it, the whole sweaty bunch of you were ready for cupcakes and singing, and you pals serenaded you yet again:

You were so pleased, humble, and proud:

And we were all so very proud of you! You didn't even vomit this year*

Back in the gym for more fun, now with sugar!

You got some pretty sweet gifts that you were very happy with...and eagerly played with the next morning:

...and you shared with your sister too...

...but the best gift of all was the absolutely innocent, positive, joyful good time you had with your friends and family. May your years be joyous and full of such great friends who always bring the gift of love...and a good time! (and maybe cupcakes)

* more on that later.
