Birthday Girl

Julia, on a cold-ish fall day, your family and friends got together to celebrate your THIRD birthday. Your FROZEN party was held at the Little Gym (your home away from home), and you - and your friends- had a magnificent time running, climbing, frolicking, eating cake, and frolicking more.

You were having the time of your life, and loved being the center of attention...until you were actually the center of attention. For some reason you didn't want to spin around on the parachute while people sang to you. 

And there were a few tears...but you quickly recovered...and went back to having a blast!

We got out of the parachute and did more climbing:

Then came everyone's favorite: the air track!

You and I got a little hot, so we went outside for a little bit to cool off...and took a few selfies!

Back in it for some balance beaming...

And before you knew it, it was time for the CUPCAKES!

Then back in for balls and bubbles!

After everyone finished pelting Pops with balls, it was almost time to say goodbye.

Your family all came out to celebrate, and we went to red baby tacos after the party to eat!

...and then...at home...you got to open your presents!

You were kind enough to share with your big brother!

You are a delightful young lady, and a gracious, fun-loving, amazing birthday girl!

I'm just going to say this: you are one of the coolest people I've ever met.

Most days you act twice your age, and you're more capable than many adults I know.

You may just be three,but you are an expert game-player, budding artist, hilarious-face-maker, puzzle master. You are sweet, and sensitive, and fierce, and loyal, and feisty, and clever.

What do you want to be when you grow up: A Mermaid!

You definitely know what you want. Leading up to your birthday, I asked you what we should do to celebrate your birthday. You looked at me and said, "Well...sing me 'happy birthday' and bring me cupcakes and balloons!"

So...that's what we did! We took a family trip to the arboretum, came home, rested and played, went to dinner at Red Baby Taco, came back, sang to you, gave you cake and presents! Balloons weren't available, but you were okay with it!

I asked you what your favorite part of your birthday was on the evening of October 11. 

You thought pensively for a moment and said wistfully "...the stars..."

I thought, "man, that's deep!"

Then you clarified..."The stars sprinkles on my cake."
