We packed our suitcases, we made arrangements for neighbors and family to watch the dogs, house, and pool. We set up timers to water the garden and made sure we had our passports.
And with that...we were off to the airport for our magical EuroWeinstein2019 Trip!
As we arrived at DFW airport the two of you started getting hyper excited. "Is that the Eiffel Tower?" "Wow! Look at that plane!" "This is amazing!"
It was at that moment that neither of you have been on an airplane- or even been to the airport- since our last EuroWeinstein Trip in 2016! We really need to make sure y'all get out more! But, the excitement was refreshing and a wonderfully energetic way to start our voyage!
Our flight to London was great. Even though your screens didn't play movies. So you watched trailers and played video games for 4 hours until you fell asleep. You both went with the flow, and we were so proud of you!
And then, we were there, with Auntie Deborah, in our AirBNB in Arnos Grove, London!
Day 1- Tursday June 27
We explored the area, met up with Kobi, and played in the tiny but lush back garden.
...and then there were EIGHT- the Helfords arrived safe and sound!
We Ubered up to Muswell hill for pizza with the family, and you all got to play with some dough and eat ice cream. So, eat that jet lag!
We enjoyed flat life, letting the cool evening air wipe out the heat-wave temperatures.
You drew (here's the plane and big ben, by Aidan), cuddled, crafted, and went a lil' crazy.
Day 2- Friday June 28
We set off by foot and bus to explore London!
Muswell Hill for sites and shops and bites and stops:
...and a magical time exploring the shady, leafy, timeless Highgate Wood.
You all collected nature, loved the playground, and basked in the shade of the ancient acre wood.
We made our way back to Muswell Hill, and the bus, and back to the flat (Uncle Ross wound up pushing all FOUR kiddos!)
...and we all got snazzed up for Ella's Bat Mitzvah Friday Night service, dinner at Deborah and Keith's house...and a surprise visit from the ICE CREAM TRUCK!
It was at this point that we realized the sun doesn't set in London until like 11 pm, so we hurried home, got cozy in our PJs and tried to get some daylight nighttime sleep for Days 3 and 4 and more of our EuroWeinstein 2019 Trip!
