We don't always get to get together with the Nodelands and Shields...but when we do... it's a blast. Your cousins from other covens are like family, and it's so cool to see y'all grow up together...even if we can't hang out as often as we'd like.

It's beginning to look a lot like...
Hey! It's November!
Hey! We're all off!
We love going through the ornaments each year. We love decorating and getting in the holiday spirit. We got nothing else to do today!
Hey! Let's get this place ready for Christmas and Hanukkah! Why not?
I love celebrating the holidays- and getting ready for them - waaaaay in advance- with all 5 of you crazy folks!

Happy Halloween 2019!
Take a couple of wizards (Harry AND Hermione)...
...add one Miguel from Coco...
...and some great neighbor friends...
So check out a few of the tricks and treats of a fun, lovely, c-c-c-cold Halloween!
...at the end of the night, the five of y'all piled in the back of the car, the lights went out, and y'all went quiet as you started chowing down on candy, candy, CANDY!

Historical Heritage
Julia,
I had the pleasure of working with you on your first historical heritage research project! You chose to be Iulia Aurelia Zenobia...Queen of the East!
You read about her in one of your books and immediately fell in love with her because...well.. because her first name is pretty much your first name.
But then we learned more about her- and she's a quite obscure figure- and you were impressed with how she conquered different countries and stood up to her enemies!
And in doing your project, you conquered your fears too! The day before your big presentation, after so much work went into your costume with Miss Holly and making the research cards with Miss Emily and Miss Adrienne, you came home in complete devastation. You were trying to decorate your note card (your report) and put on too much glue and the entire thing got disintegrated into a pile of mush! But, you and Mama figured out a plan, and you cut out a page from your notes that you and I had taken, and you turned it into your card! Problem solved! And you were a Queen at your first Historical Heritage!

Aidan, last year you chose to be Neil Armstrong. But, you had a close second. Mommy and you had discussed several options and you were super psyched about one. You weaved a web of tale in your class last year, and luckily Miss Gwyn followed you the whole way.
"I could be that guy...you know...the girlfriend is dead and bleeding and the guy gets on top of her and kills himself!"
That's right... William Shakespeare! And this year, to be or not to be... you were the bard himself!

When your arm is broke, and you can't go camp. Who you gonna call?
Aidan, when you fractured your humerus and the doctor said we had to limit your movement and physical activity for like a million years, I knew that we couldn't go on the fall Hiking Laser Bears trip.
But, that didn't mean we couldn't go on a dudes trip!
So, when your arm is broke..and you can't go camp... Who you gonna call?
We went back to the hotel where we swam and hot tubbed in their indoor pool, and made funny beards and wigs and faces in the (soap? (hopefully??)) foam that emerged from the hot tub's bubblers.
We dined on some delicious burgers.
We made our way to the concert hall, where we - all three of us together ... you in the middle- watched and laughed and got a little scared and proved that WE aren't afraid of no ghosts!
We kept you up WAY past your bedtime, but we had a blast doing it. You, me, and pops. Laughing and having fun way into the evening hours.
To top it all off we met with Uncle Dana, Aunt Mendi, and Grayson for breakfast the next morning, before we headed home and on to the next adventure.

Pops and me! That's right! We had a fun dudes trip to Fort Worth instead- and it was a blast!
We ate burritos.
We went to a comic book store.
We took a great hike through a butterfly garden and to a waterfall...
...where shoes got wet, rocks got thrown, hills got climbed, stones got skipped, and a nice young girl asked you your name (and you later told us that made you blush).
