A few roadtrips, a lot of family, a lot of yummy food, some great laughs, silly and amazing grandparents, and loads of cousins to play with. That's what Thanksgiving is all about!
I'm so Thankful to have such amazing kiddos as you, Julia and Aidan. You keep me and Mommy on our toes, challenge my priorities and my way of thinking, and teach me to love in ways I never thought possible. That's what I'm Thankful for this year.
Man oh Man...so many memories...so little time...between the candy-driven costumed tomfoolery of Halloween and Thanksgiving, we had a lot of low-key and high-key (and some off-key) fun in the month of November.
I love your creativity, your ability to push through boredom into an area of pure creativity and fun...
Spy games
I love your artwork, your super spy task force, your crafts, your outdoor play, your dancing. I love playing outside with you, playing games, seeing movies. I love taking you to birthday parties and watching the insanity and watching you test your limits and try new things with friends.
November 2018 may be long-since over as I write this, and a lot of these little memories may already be out in the ether, but I have some photographic evidence of the fun we had, the silliness that ensued, and of your amazing growth.
I love you both. To November and back again. Is that deep or crappy? Either way...I love you so much.
We had lots of artwork...
Julia's rainbow kitty unicorn mermaids.
... abstract color pieces by Aidan...
...and a lot more!
There was Puppy LOVE...
Writing practice...
Birthday PARTIES galore...
Picking (and pickling) Peppers... and flowers...
May your lives always provide as much fun- if not more- than a lazy, crazy, fun, and sweet early November.
Julia, every Wednesday since summer ended, you've been taking ballet lessons with one of your best buddies, Penelope.
We've seen you dancing at home, you've shown of some of the techniques you've learned, you've modeled your ballet shoes and outfit, and you've shared with us that you love ballet (and that you and Penelope occasionally get a little silly and have to be separated).
But....since they don't allow parents into the room, nor is there even a window for us to see, Mommy nor I have ever been able to witness what it is that you actually DO in ballet class!
Well, finally, this Wednesday, they let the parents in to see the inner-workings of a ballet class!
You are so good at ballet! And you're having fun doing it!
You were attentive and had clearly learned a lot!
You were graceful and serious and clearly loved to move!
You were strong, and silly, and you and your best buddy Penelope had to be separated.
But you persevered and showed off all of the skills you've been practicing!
With a wall-length mirror in front of you- and all your whole class- no one could seem to resist dancing with your reflection, making for some memorable moves!
And...of course....you got to have fun with one of your best buddies.
So much fun, in fact, that you didn't want to let go!
Don't fret little ballerinas, there's always next week to dance, and spin, and leap together!
I've been wanting to volunteer at your school for a good long time, and finally my schedule and the right event came a-calling.
So me and a bunch up to school early one morning to start flippin' pancakes for our kiddos:
It was so cool to see you up at school, and an honor to make pancakes for you both, your teachers, your mama/teacher, and to give you a sweet start to a super day!
Julia, you in particular, had been super excited leading up to this telling everyone that "my daddy is coming to school to make us pancakes!"
